Picture Update; Badlands & Mount Rushmore

Hi all! Something different today. "They" say that a picture is worth a thousand words, so I thought I'd just post some pictures from the last couple of days. Included are two days from the Badlands and an afternoon at Mount Rushmore.

More on my camping experience in the Badlands National Park in my next update... Here's a preview: Bison, Cold, Coyote, Cold, Sunrise, Cold, and the sheer joy of fresh boiled coffee from a camp stove at 5 a.m.

Hope you enjoy the pics. I sure enjoyed taking them! You should be able to click on the pics to open full size.

Are you going to see the Crazy Horse monument ? Also the Richard M Nixon memorial is not far from where you are. Check it out - it's a 300' hole in the ground in the middle of nowhere.

Hey Bill! I was going to go there, but frankly, I was kind of put off by the folks at Mt. Rushmore. I bought one of those National Park annual passes for $80 and they go, "we don't take that here" Besides the commercialism of the whole thing was kind of disappointing, so I just headed up the road and spent some time exploring in the Black Hills National Forest. I'm in Buffalo, WY tonight, and I'm gonna head over toward Yellowstone and the Tetons tomorrow and see what the weather holds... who knows? Reports look good tonight, but that can change in a hurry in some of those passes leading in. Thanks for the note!
